SUNDAY JANUARY 31

Friends,

Today we offer our final pre-recorded online service.

Next Sunday, February 7, we invite you to join us in the church sanctuary, at 174 Collins St, at 10.30am. We hope and anticipate that we will meet together at this time each Sunday for an ‘in-person’ experience of worship, community and teaching. We will offer live-streamed or recorded parts of the service via this website for those unable to attend.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has joined us during this strange season of virtual church. We are grateful for the resilience of community and faith, the graciousness of you all, and the possibility of something new beginning next Sunday.

In today’s video Carolyn reflects on Psalm 30, as the ancient community brings their stories of faith and struggle right into the temple.

Thank you for your company during the past year. We look forward to seeing many of you next Sunday.

SUNDAY JANUARY 24

Welcome.

In our video service of worship today, the first for 2021, we do two things.

First, on this Aboriginal Sunday we acknowledge the story, dignity and struggle of our nation’s first peoples. We pray for justice and reconciliation in our relationships and for our shared future.

Second, we reflect on the lectionary psalm for this third Sunday of Epiphany, Psalm 62 and explore what it means to rest in God.

Peace to you.

SUNDAY JANUARY 17

Today, once again, we offer some written prayers and reflections for your worship at home.

You can find our final summer liturgy here: CSBC Summer Liturgy January 17

Next Sunday we will return to CSBC Online with a video service.

Our ‘in person’ worship services at Collins St Baptist Church will resume on Sunday February 7 and we can’t wait to see you then!

SUNDAY JANUARY 10

We invite you to join us in prayer and reflection today – at the end of a tumultuous week in the world.

Our written liturgy, scripture reading and reflection are available here:

We look forward to sharing CSBC Online video services again soon, on Sunday January 24 and Sunday January 31.

Our in-person services at Collins St will recommence on Sunday February 7 at 10.30am.

Peace and grace to you.

SUNDAY JANUARY 3

This Sunday we invite you to join us in some  prayers and reflections provided in written form. We read together the story of Jesus and his family fleeing to Egypt during his youth – refugees in a violent world. What does this confronting story have to say to us today?

Our CSBC Online Service will recommence on Sunday January 24. Our in-person services at Collins St will recommence on Sunday February 7.
