SUNDAY DECEMBER 27

We pray that there has been much about this Christmas season that has brought you life and joy. We are also aware that there are, for many, a range of hidden struggles and difficulties at this time of year. We hold in prayer all those for whom this season is personally exhausting, lonely, or heavy with grief.

After many months of sharing CSBC Online services via video, we will be taking a few weeks of intentional simplicity. Each Sunday we will offer some written prayers, readings and reflections for you to engage with in your own time.

CHRISTMAS DAY

Christmas Greetings! Christ is born among us!

Today we invite you to join us as we light the Christ candle, sing carols and share a Christmas message.

May peace, joy and hope be yours today.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 20

Welcome.

On this fourth Sunday of Advent, we light the candle of love and celebrate together the extraordinary gift that is ours in Christ. What’s more, we join in a traditional service of carols and readings, retelling the familiar story of Jesus’ birth and joining our voices with countless others around the world in the hymns of this beautiful season.

May you experience something of God’s love and presence today.

Peace to you.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 13

Today, on the third Sunday of Advent, we continue our reflections on the lectionary readings from the book of Isaiah.

We light the third Advent candle, the candle of joy, hear from both Simon Holt and Carolyn Francis, and are led in readings and prayers by Val Holt and Neil Wright.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 6

Welcome.

As we continue to anticipate the coming birth of Jesus, today we light the second Advent candle: the candle of peace. As we do, we reflect together on another reading from the prophet Isaiah.

Peace to you in this challenging but beautiful season.
