For me, coming to Collins Street Baptist Church was a deliberate choice to be part of my city and neighbourhood. This place offers me an ideal platform to live, work, play and worship in the city. I have experienced love and acceptance from so many people, and I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to give something back through being a deacon.
Collins Street challenges me with a way of life, not just a system of beliefs – it all comes together in the radical example of Jesus – a story told over and over again in the lives of my friends who worship with me in central Melbourne. I especially enjoy this church’s unique ability to speak life into my work as an urban designer. Is not the city our best and worst expression of what it means to be human?
